Director, Faculty Wellness Program
Dr. Gérin-Lajoie is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Medicine. She has been with the Faculty since 2000, after completing her MD and residency training with us.
For the past five years, she has worked as the Medical Lead of the Psychosocial Oncology Program at The Ottawa Hospital’s (TOH) Cancer Centre. Since January 2013, she has chaired the TOH Physician Health and Wellness Committee and is presently a member of the TOH Physician Engagement Committee and the TOH Female Physician Leadership Committee.
Dr. Gérin-Lajoie is a psychiatrist in psychosocial oncology and has presented on the subject locally, provincially and nationally. She is involved with the Cancer Care Ontario Program in Evidence-Based Care, reviewing guidelines on the management of depression in cancer patients, and is participating in research on the role of a Patient and Family Engagement Committee in the Psychosocial Oncology Program. She continues to teach and supervise medical students, residents and fellows in psychiatry and palliative care.
