Life in Ottawa
Ottawa is a wonderful place to live. It offers a great combination of city life, access to the outdoors, and cultural activities. Ottawa's status as Canada's capital lends many advantages.
Ottawans enjoy a terrific lifestyle. The city is just large enough, but not so big that it is overwhelming. Housing is cheaper than in bigger centres. Biking or running to work is entirely feasible.
The Rideau Canal runs straight through the centre of the city, attracting joggers, cyclists, boaters and skaters. As well, Ottawa is surrounded by parks, nature trails, rivers and lakes. Skiing and cottage country are only fifteen minutes away.
The National Arts Centre, the National Gallery of Canada and the Canadian Museum of Civilization are all located in the city. Additionally, there are many festivals throughout the year. The Tulip Festival and Winterlude are just a few examples.
