Zahra Montazeri is the research manager/Biostatistician in the department of Epidemiology and Community Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She received her undergraduate and Master's degrees from Iran, and her Ph.D from Carleton University, where she trained with Dr. Mojirsheibani in applied Statistics in 2007. Her dissertation is about classification with missing covariates, and her results were published in several statistical journals, two of the most prestigious being Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, and Journal of Multivariate Analysis. She started to work in the Bioinformatic lab at the University of Ottawa with Dr. Bickel as a postdoc fellow. She has since joined the Epidemiology department, starting February 2010. She developed some methods to analyze gene expression data and she has contributed to a multi-author statistical paper published in Bioinformatics, the most highly regarded bioinformatics journal. Furthermore, her recent results will appear in Statistical Applications in Genetic and Molecular Biology.

Sara Khangura comes to us from knowledge exchange at the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health. Prior to this, Sara was Research Coordinator for more than ten years at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and brings a background in the development and evaluation of patient decision aids, knowledge translation interventions research, systematic review methods and communications.
