Brief Description of Rotation

The resident will work within an ACTT setting and treatment framework. There will be exposure to a wide variety of patients with multiple comorbidities and treatment challenges. Individuals will be seen in a diversity of settings including boarding homes, shelters, supported housing and independent living. Residents will become familiar with community resources available to treat patients outside of the hospital setting. If desired, observed interviews simulating Royal College examinations will be available.

  1. To treat individuals with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders in a community setting

  2. Comprehensively assess patients and develop treatment plans within a multi-disciplinary team setting

  3. To effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team setting

  4. To improve interview skills
