The Undergraduate Student Summer Research Awards are available to fund undergraduate research projects in lipidomics carried out under the supervision of one of our faculty mentors. Candidates who successfully receive a University of Ottawa Summer Studentship for Undergraduate Medical Students under the supervision of one of our faculty members (at any of our affiliate Institutions) may also apply for this award.
General Applicant Eligibility You must be registered full-time in Bachelor’s degree program at the time of application. You must have minimum B+ cumulative grade point average You must have contacted and have been accepted as potential summer undergraduate student researcher under the supervision of one of our faculty mentors Supervisors must supplement the award by $4500 (i.e. internal award, NSERC, URSA, HSFO Undergraduate award etc.)

The CIHR Training Program in Neurodegenerative Lipidomics provides funding to promote collaborative research and skill advancement in lipidomics.
General Applicant Eligibility You must be registered full-time in a M.Sc. or Ph.D. program under the supervision of one of our faculty mentors. M.Sc. trainees are eligible for funding during their first two years of full-time graduate study. Ph.D. trainees are eligible for funding during their first five years of full-time graduate study.

The CIHR Training Program in Neurodegenerative Lipidomics provides funding to promote collaborative research and skill advancement in lipidomics.
General Applicant Eligibility You must hold a Ph.D. degree and be accepted as a post-doctoral fellow under the supervision of one of our faculty mentors. Under exceptional circumstances, applicants with an M.D. degree may be eligible. This exception applies only to Canadian citizens or permanent residents who hold a M.D. degree from a Canadian academic institution. Preference will be given to trainees who will have 5 years or less of postdoctoral experience at the time of finishing the award.

Post-professional Fellowship Award

General Applicant Eligibility You must hold a professional medical degree (M.D.) and be accepted as a post-professional degree fellow under the supervision of one of our faculty mentors. You cannot be enrolled in any academic program leading to a degree or diploma while holding a Post-Professional Degree Fellowship.

Short-term Research Award

These awards provide highly qualified personnel, whose primary research is not focused on neurolipidomics, the opportunity to work under the co-supervision of at least two of our faculty mentors on an applied or conceptual short-term defined research project designed to promote: a) the dissemination of neurolipidomic findings; b) the communication of research projects (and our program); c) a small neurolipidomic research project not directly related or peripherally related to the applicant's thesis research d) outreach programs
It is applicable, for example, for those: - whose primary research is not focused on neurolipidomics - who do not have other sources of external or internal funding beyond teaching assistantships - who have just graduated from an undergraduate degree and are seeking a defined research project. - who are PDFs wishing to pursue a defined research project
General Applicant Eligibility This funding is designed to support trainees who propose a defined research project for a defined duration. Applicants and their supervisors must outline all project deliverables and time line and provide justification for the associated trainee stipend requested.
The project must be supervised by at least two (2) of our faculty mentors.
Outreach projects must be approved by the program director, Dr. Steffany Bennett.
