Morning Report
All Medicine residents while on CTU are expected to attend Morning Report. Morning Report at the Civic runs from 0800-0900 hours each day except Wednesdays when it runs until 0830. At the General Campus, the session runs daily from 0830-0930 except on Wednesday when it runs until 0900. Morning Report occurs in Room 5312 at the General Campus and the B5 classroom at the Civic Campus.
This round is the primary responsibility of the Division of General Medicine. This session is focused on problem formulation, diagnosis, and management of patients admitted through the Emergency room, patients seen on the in-patient consultation services, or in ambulatory clinics. The round is an interactive discussion at the level of a PGY2/PGY3. All junior house staff are encouraged attend if they have completed an independent review of the patients, which have been assigned to them. These rounds are run by the Chief Medical Resident with faculty member(s) present for moderation and expertise.
Wednesday mornings at the General and Friday mornings at the Civic, Morning Report focuses on evidenced-based medicine when paper is reviewed in a critical manner by one of the Senior residents with supervision by faculty.
