Postgraduate Fellowship Training: What types of Fellowship does Ottawa offer?
- The following fellowships usually require both a clinical and research supervisor (e.g. lab scientist, clinician-scientist, clinician-educator)
- Translational Research
- Clinical Research
- Education Research
- Cardiac Oncology
Usually disease site specific
Clinical duties are typically 20-40% of your workload (2-3 half-day clinics per week)
For those wanting to obtain a higher level of clinical exposure in general oncology or specific disease site.
Clinical duties are typically 60-80% of your workload (5-7 half day clinics per week).
Also involves teaching, academic and research activities of their primary discipline as assigned by their primary supervisor.
Please note: research or clinical fellowships do not lead to eligibility for certification for medical oncology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
Degree programs (MSc/PhD)
Fellows may wish to pursue a higher degree during their time in Ottawa and accommodations can be made to facilitate.
