Section from the myometrium show evidence of intramural cellular leiomyoma
with degenerative changes. There is no evidence of necrosis or cytologic
atypia. Mitotic activity is minimal to nil. Immunostains are obtained to
confirm the histogenesis of the neoplasm. Tumor cells are positive for
vimentin, SMA, desmin, CD10 and Caldesmon. The immunoprofile is more in
keeping with smooth muscle origin. Endometrium is absent in the material
