Clinical history: A 72-year old male presented with a pulmonary nodule on chest X-ray. A CT scan demonstrated a nodule in the right middle lobe measuring 2.0 x 1.8 cm. Multiple enlarged hilar and mediastinal lymph nodes and "probable" liver metastasis were also identified. He is an ex-smoker. A fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) of the lung nodule was performed.
