Case Two

Overview

Clinical history: This is a 75 year old man who presented with a two month history of increasing shortness of breath. He was found to have a left-sided pleural effusion which required chest tube drainage.

Other past history is only remarkable for smoking (he quit one year ago after 45 pack-years) and occupational asbestos exposure working in an industrial plant as well as working as a sailor in the Merchant Marines.
