Case One

Overview

Clinical history: 45 years old male presented to the emergency department with nausea, vomiting, watery diarrhea and right lower quadrant pain. CT scan showed an irregular mass lesion in the pelvic mesentery causing mild tethering of the adjacent ileal loop. A small bowel resection was performed. Gross examination showed a 3.5 x 2.7 x 2.0 cm, firm, well circumscribed mesenteric mass with a whorled appearance and no necrosis or hemorrhage.
