Postdoc Registration

Here you will find information on how and what documents need to be filled out and submitted to the appropriate office (depending on which institute you work for) to register as a postdoc with the University.

University of Ottawa Postdoc Registration

The following is required to register as a postdoc at the University of Ottawa

  1. Obtain and fill out an electronic B-Form from Human Resources for payroll
    • Note: The FOAP number is the account from which you will be paid. If you have an external fellowship this number will be created for you by the University (On Campus Computers Only).
    • Check with payroll to confirm which sections need to be filled out.
    • Once you have completed the above sections, press submit. This action does not send the form anywhere. It will generate a unique barcode number.
    • Print the form. Note: The size of the form is legal (8.5" x 14" or 216 mm x 356 mm). So if you cannot print on a legal sized paper, please adjust the document so it fits on a single page.
  2. Obtain and fill out the post doctoral registration form
    • Please complete and have it signed by the candidate, Principle Investigator and the Chair of your department.
  3. A Copy of your CV including publications
  4. Proof of your PhD Degree
    • A photocopy of your degree, or if you have not recieved it yet, a letter of completion from your university will suffice
  5. Void Cheque for payroll direct deposit
  6. If you are not a Canadian Citizen: Copy of your work permit or permanent resident card

Once you have completed and have all the appropriate documentation please send it to the payroll department located at RGN2236. Once registered, you will receive an e-mail from the University asking you to register in person and obtain your postdoc card at the main campus.

University of Ottawa Heart Institute Postdoc Registration

The following is required to register as a postdoc at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute

  1. A copy of your contract
  2. Obtain and fill out the post doctoral registration form
    • Please complete and have it signed by the candidate, Principle Investigator and the Chair of your department.
  3. A Copy of your CV including publications
  4. Proof of your PhD Degree
    • A photocopy of your degree, or if you have not recieved it yet, a letter of completion from your university will suffice
  5. Void Cheque for payroll direct deposit
  6. If you are not a Canadian Citizen: Copy of your work permit or permanent resident card

Once you have completed and have all the appropriate documentation please drop off all forms at the FGPS office. Once registered, you will receive an e-mail from the University asking you to register in person and obtain your postdoc card at the main campus.
