Granting Agency Deadlines

Although Research Net has a deadline of 8p.m., Research Management Services (RMS) would like to draw your attention to the following important notes regarding the upcoming winter 2012 CIHR grant competitions.

CIHR Operating grant – Thursday March 1, 2012 at 3:00 PM to RMS
Approval – electronically through ResearchNet

The deadline for submission is Thursday March 1 at 3:00 PM to RMS.
1. When submitting your proposal in ResearchNet, please ensure to click the "Submit to Research Institution" button so that RMS can access and approve your proposal.
2. It is important to ensure that RMS has a reasonable period to approve and submit proposals to CIHR, by respecting the internal institutional approval deadline (3:00 PM, Thursday, March 1, 2012).
3. RMS must have received a duly signed RE form before 3:00 PM, Thursday, March 1, 2012. (http://www.rms.uottawa.ca/mforms/index.asp)
RMS will confirm institutional approval following submission of the proposal by the researcher and receipt of the RE form.

This a reminder if you are submitting to the CIHR Operating Grant Competition for March 1, 2012, you must register on RESEARCH NET by Thursday, February 2, 2012 8p.m ET.

NOTE:

An RE form must be submitted for Vice Dean signature for all grants.
RE forms and draft proposals must be submitted to Vice Dean Research Office for signature by 5 pm, Monday, February 27, 2012 . Our office will submit all RE forms and supporting documentation downtown. Please have RE signed by PI and dept head/chair prior to sending to us. PDF signed and scanned copies are acceptable. Send to glcampb@uottawa.ca
You MUST upload a signature page even if it is BLANK, or RESEARCH NET will not let you submit your application. The only hard signature required is for co-applicants, the PI and institution sign by electronic consent/submission.
PRINT and PREVIEW your application in PDF prior to submission. The PDF will look different on the screen and often cuts off text. Save your application often to ensure there are no technical problems, even if you do not plan to submit until the day of submission.
For the full application phase, please make sure your CVs are validated for APPLICATION not REGISTRATION.
CIHR has a zero tolerance on missing information or improperly followed guidelines such as Fonts etc. Please READ guidelines carefully!
