Objectives:
To acquire experience and expertise in the following areas:
- Imaging work-up of screen-detected mammographic abnormalities in the setting of a dedicated breast assessment center
- The imaging work-up of patients presenting with clinical breast problems
- Breast ultrasound in the characterization of focal breast lesions and in the staging of breast cancer
- Targetted breast ultrasound in the assessment of MR-detected abnormalities
- Stereotactic and ultrasound guided core-needle and vacuum-assisted breast biopsy
- Pre-operative needle/wire localization of breast lesions
- Screening mammography
- Imaging-pathologic correlation
- Interpretation of Breast MR studies
- Perform MRI guided breast biopsies
Academic Duties:
- Participation in weekly Women's Breast Health Centre (WBHC) clinical rounds (Monday noon) – presentation and discussion of imaging studies
- Participation in weekly Breast site group oncology rounds ORCC General campus (Tuesday am)
- Participation in monthly resident breast topic presentations at the WBHC
- Participation in monthly breast imagers interesting case rounds at the WBHC
- Participation in monthly ultrasound technologist rounds at the WBHC
- Presentation of one breast imaging rounds (ie interesting breast cases) per month at noon rounds for the radiology residents
