  • Molecular mechanisms of the blood-brain barrier (BBB), ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters, blood-brain barrier modeling, modulation, and pathology.

  • Biotranslational sciences; drug delivery into the brain

  • Pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, and stroke.

  • Signaling mechanisms of inflammation.
