Students and professors at uOttawa take a walk on the "bald" side!
OTTAWA, January 3, 2008 — University of Ottawa students, professors and community members, will soon find out how cold winter can be without hair! The University’s medical students have challenged Ottawa to shave their heads, to raise funds for the Childhood Cancer Foundation in support of pediatric cancer care and research in their annual “Shave for a Cure” fundraiser.
Shaving will take place on January 25, 2008, at the Ottawa 67’s game. In addition, there will be a silent auction featuring hockey memorabilia and many other great prizes.
Last year, students raised nearly $30,000 for cancer research and this year, they hope to surpass that amount with a new fundraising record. All funds raised will be donated to the Childhood Cancer Foundation. All proceeds of tickets sold in advance will be donated to the cause.
