Four Members of the Faculty of Medicine Appointed as Canada Research Chairs
The University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine is proud to announce the appointment of three new Canada Research Chairs and the renewal of one, further contributing to the University's commitment to leadership and excellence in the field of medical research.
Dr. Seung-Hwan Lee, Dr. Ian Colman, and Dr. William Stanford are the new recipients of the program, and Dr. Pierre Blier is the current chairholder who has been renewed.
Dr. Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Immunology. He holds the Research Chair in Viral Infection and Immunity.
Dr. Colman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Community Medicine, and now holds the Research Chair in Mental Health Epidemiology.
Dr. William Stanford is a Professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. His Research Chair is in Integrative Stem Cell Biology.
A current chairholder in Psychopharmology, Dr. Pierre Blier is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry whose Research Chair has been renewed.
The Faculty of Medicine along with the University is committed to research excellence and the Canada Research Chairs Program plays a key role in supporting and retaining the best academic talent from across Canada and around the world. The newly-appointed Research Chairs will undoubtedly continue enrich the knowledge and understanding of medicine in their research work.
