Doctor Jacques Bradwejn, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, together with Dr. Bernard Jasmin, Vice Dean, Research (interim) are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. David Park to the position of Assistant Dean, Research and Special Projects Please join them in welcoming Dr. Park to the team.

Doctor David Park received his PhD in Biochemistry from the Rutgers University. He then finished his post-doctoral training at Columbia University examining the mechanisms of neuronal death. He is now currently Full Professor in the Department of Cellular Molecular Medicine.
Dr. Park currently has an active and dynamic research program examining neuronal dysfunction and death in the context of Parkinson’s disease and stroke. He recently co-founded and is co-director of the Parkinson’s Research Consortium, an organization based in Ottawa dedicated to advancing PD research locally and nationally. He has received a large number of awards including CIHR Scholar and the Michael Smith Young Investigator Award. He is on a number of editorial and scientific boards including Heart and Stroke, Parkinson’s Society Canada, and Journal of Neurochemistry. He is currently a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario Career Investigator. He looks forward to the challenges as Assistant Dean of Research.
