Dr. Park Receives Award from Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario
Dr. David Park from the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine is the recipient of the 2011/2012 Lowell Langille Tribute Award. The award is given to the highest rated researcher in the 2011/2012 career investigator competition. The award will support trainee mentoring activities.
Dr. Park is the Assistant Dean of Research and Special Projects at the Faculty of Medicine as well as a professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at uOttawa. His main research interests lie in neuroscience, apoptosis, Parkinson's disease and stroke. He is also a scientist with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI).
Dr. Park is currently on a number of scientific boards including the Parkinson's Society of Canada and the Heart and Stroke Foundation. He was on a number of editorial boards including the Journal of Biological Chemistry and the Journal of Neurochemistry. He is the Co-Director of the Parkinson's Research Consortium.
