Remuneration
Remuneration for preceptors comes either from the Rural Networks or the Faculty of Medicine or both.
Undergraduate Level
Rural Week
- There is no remuneration for this week.
Third year clerkship rotations (Rural Network)
- As per provincial guidelines, preceptors receive $250.00 per week for rotations that are a minimum of four weeks.
- There is also some funding available directly from the Faculty for preceptors teaching clerks that have Faculty appointments. Please enquire directly to the DME Office or the local Medical Education Coordinator.
Third year clerkship rotation (not affiliated with a rural network)
- Preceptors receive funding directly from the Faculty at rates similar to those described above.
Electives (one to four weeks)
- There is funding available for electives done at all Undergraduate levels. Preceptors are remunerated annually at the end of the academic year. Please enquire for current rates at the DME Office.
DME Rotation Site Directors
- Funding is available to remunerate site coordinators at the Undergraduate level. For more information, please contact the DME Director.
Postgraduate Level
- As per provincial guidelines, preceptors receive $250.00 per week for rotations affiliated with a rural network that are a minimum of four weeks.
- Family Medicine funding for preceptors comes directly by the Department of Family Medicine.
