Community Physicians
Welcome to this section specifically designed for community physicians.
As rural or Distributed Medical Education continues to grow, many community physicians are being called upon to take on greater teaching roles. The University understands that this is a labor of love and that no amount of recognition or remuneration will make up for the time and effort invested in training a learner.
The direction of medical education has changed, partly from a need to educate the ever increasing medical school class, and partly from the recognition that teaching students in the community leads to a return to the community. From isolated offices to small town hubs, to satellite campuses, DME has arrived.
