Appointments
All preceptors affiliated with the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Medicine are strongly encouraged to apply for an appointment in order to be part of the teaching Institution and to benefit from this relationship. The preceptors’ commitment is greatly valued and the Faculty wishes to compensate them accordingly.
To facilitate the appointment of DME Faculty, a streamlined process has been developed; please consult the Appointment Package. The DME lecturer position allows the community physicians to apply for a five-year appointment with no need to come to Ottawa to meet the Chair, and no need to commit to any committee work. Perks, to name a few, include remote library access, increased teaching stipends and funding to attend Faculty Development sessions.
