AIME Senior Research Associates

Applications due October 1, 2011

Introduction

The Academy for Innovation in Medical Education (AIME) invites applications for Senior Research Associate (SRA). AIME SRAs will be recognized as leaders in the field of scholarship in medical education at the University of Ottawa. They will have the opportunity to supervise trainees that have been accepted in the AIME/University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Center (uOSSC) Fellowship in Medical Education/Simulation. This Fellowship is offered in collaboration with the Departments of Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Surgery.

Criteria for AIME Senior Research Associate

  1. Must be at the level of Associate Professor with academic appointment to the Faculty of Medicine with potential for cross-appointment to the Faculty of Education. Some individuals may qualify at the Assistant Professor level.
  2. Must have completed significant research in medical education and have research supervision experience.
  3. Must be appointed by the AIME SRA Selection Committee.

Application process to become AIME Senior Research Associate

  1. In addition to a CV and other documentation, the individual must be nominated by a member of the AIME/uOSSC Fellowship Committee (contact us for details at aime@uottawa.ca).
  2. Applications will be processed in two cycles, with deadlines of February 1 and October 1. Applicants will be notified of decisions within 3 weeks of each deadline so they can start supervising prospective applicants immediately. This will greatly increase the chances for a successful Fellowship experience the following July.
  3. Submit completed applications to aime@uOttawa.ca or the AIME Office (Room 2034, Roger Guindon Hall, 451 Smyth Road)
