Deadline for submission: Sunday, January 15, 2012
Proposals for oral and poster presentations are now being invited for presentation at the AIME Medical Education Day, to be held on March 23, 2012. Scholarship in the areas of admissions, undergraduate education, postgraduate training, continuing medical education, faculty development, curricular innovation and evaluation, or any other topic relevant to medical education is welcome. You can submit in English or French.
Posters
A poster session will take place during the conference providing an opportunity for participants to share ideas and insights to interested attendees. Additionally, during conference breaks, attendees will be encouraged to circulate through the poster presentations to interact with presenters.
Oral Presentations
These presentations may include completed research, innovations, or research in progress. Sessions consist of 10-minute presentations, each followed by 5-minute question and answer periods.
Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be submitted to aime@uottawa.ca using the AIME Medical Education Day submission form (ou formulaire de soumission). Applicants may request that their submissions be considered for a poster, an oral presentation, or either. All submissions must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Abstracts must not exceed 250 words.
- Abstracts should use the following format:
- Purpose of study or innovation
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
- Purpose of study or innovation
- Submissions must include 3 key words or phrases.
- If an applicant submits more than one submission as first author, the selection committee reserves the right to contact the author to prioritize their submissions. An applicant is not limited to the number of submissions to which he/she can be a contributing author.
The conference program, as well as oral presentation abstracts, will be posted on the AIME website by late January. Accepted poster titles will also be posted.
You will receive an email confirming your submission. If you do not receive this confirmation within 48 hours, please contact aime@uottawa.ca.
We anticipate being able to notify submitters of their status (accepted or rejected) by late-January. Please note awards will be presented for the Best Oral Paper (Senior and Junior) and Best Poster. Individuals requiring guidance or advice regarding abstract submissions are welcome to contact twood@uottawa.ca or shumphrey@toh.on.ca.
